san francisco's mission district. a witness shot these images yesterday. they show officers with guns drawn approaching the scene near 21st and south van ness. the man they were after had just crashed after police tried to pull him over in connection with a nearby shooting. they say he ran a red light and broadsided for car pushing it into a pedestrian. the pedestrian and the woman in the car were both killed. the suspect a known gang member 19-year-old david morales, has been charged with two counts of murder and faces attempted murder and firearms charges for the shooting incident. >>> new information is coming out about the killing of a wealthy businessman in monte sereno. it could suggest a motive into the brutal home invasion murder. as cbs 5 reporter mark sayre tells us more suspects could be arrested. >>> reporter: this is a case that still has more questions than answers as yet another suspect appears in court today. and court documents raise some questions about the victim's lifestyle. >>> reporter: 21-year-old javier garcia appeared in santa clara county superior c

of people gathered along san francisco's waterfront at midnight to ring in the new year. but it was a holiday celebration marred by violence. ktvu's alex savidge tells us a 12-year-old boy was among three people who were shot. alex? >> reporter: well, as thousands packed the waterfront last night, someone opened fire here on embarcadero close to pier 2. a total of two people shot here. one of them a 12-year-old boy. he was hit in the foot but is expected to be okay. now, this happened about 11:30 last night, as people were waiting for the fireworks show to begin in san francisco. along with the boy wounded, a man was grazed in the hip by a bullet. san francisco police say both of those shooting victims are being treated for nonlife- threatening injuries. at this point, it's unclear why the shooter began to fire or who their intended target was. just about an hour before that, there was another shooting along the waterfront. this one close to fisherman's wharf, near jefferson and mason. one person shot in the hand. police say that person's injuries request are not life- t

of san francisco. the victim is in her mid- twenties. this is the man police are looking for. 22-year-old dexter oliver. phillipe djegal has more. >> vicki. suspect. 22-year-old dexter oliver. and, the victim knew eachother. in fact, police say the two are dating. right now, the victim is being treated in the burn center here at saint francis hospital. witnesses tell the san francisco police that they heard a woman screaming. on hollister avenue between third and jennings at around 12-15 sunday afternoon. police say 22-year-old dexter oliver approached her. threw flammable liquid over her. and, then set her body on fire. police say it's possible that afterwords, oliver walked down the street and boarded a light rail train. investigators not releasing what led to the confrontation. but police say oliver and the victim are dating. here's a look at dexter oliver. police say he's about 5-10. weighing 155 pounds. he was last seen wearing a red and white hoodie. dark pajama pants, with multi-colored shamrock print. with grey and red nike tennis shoes. police say he also has a unique haircut

typical winter weather. a ktvu photographer found a lot of people on market street in san francisco had heard the forecast, ander prepared for the rain. others though, had to improvise. this was the first significant rain in almost two weeks. slick roads apparently played a role in other accidents around the bay area today. one driver had to be taken to the hospital, but the other driver walked away. the highway patrol said it responded to 33 incidents just between noon and 3:00 p.m. today. >>> as frank points out, the roadways kind of a mess. this light rain falling on the afternoon commute, or the bulk of it. you see showers still occurring out there right now. coming in close, you can see the showers mainly up in the north bay. we go into san francisco, you got light scattered showers right now. on market street. scattered showers in san mateo. east 3rd avenue. just light, nothing big. then you head towards san jose, and you've got sprinkles down there as well. you think it was a lot. the north bay did see significant rainfall to the tune of about .3, or .4 of an inch up here. that's
